Gwyneth Kate Paltrow was born in Los Angeles, California, and is the daughter of actress Blythe Danner and film producer/director Bruce Paltrow. Her acting debut was in High, a TV film her father directed. Paltrow attended Crossroads School in Santa Monica, where she was raised, then she was enrolled in the Spence School, a private elite school in New York City.
